One treatment gaining popularity due to starts such as the Kardashians, is the non-surgical Brazilian Butt Lift using Sculptra Aesthetic. Sculptra Aesthetic is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid that helps to gradually replace lost collagen, the underlying cause of aging, and can be used to add volume.
Anyone who is looking for more size, projection, or even to smooth out any imperfections, butt dents, butt dimples, or to round out hip dips (violin hips) may be a candidate for the non-surgical BBL using Sculptra Aesthetic.
What Is Sculptra Aesthetic?
In terms of your appearance, Sculptra delivers very natural results that restore a youthful plump to cheeks, temples, under the eyes, and around the mouth. This fullness reflects light without casting shadows that can make you look older and more tired than you are. The human eye is naturally drawn to reflected light, helping to give your skin an overall fresh, rejuvenated glow.
For some of us, projection and size is desired. Sculptra Aesthetic works in your body in the deep dermis to revitalize collagen production and restore/create your skin’s inner structure to attain volume. As the Sculptra Aesthetic microparticles are absorbed, they help stimulate collagen production (and achieve volume). By using one of Beautique Medical Anti-Aging artisans, the desired shape can be achieved.
Hip Dip (Violin Hips)
Hip Dips are those gentle inward curves found below your hips and above your thighs. Hip dips are naturally occurring, but if rounded hips, and an hourglass silhouette is desired, we may be able to help you achieve your goal. Sculptra Aesethic can be used to create the desired shape, by increasing volume in the exact desired areas.
Butt Dents, Butt Dimples, Butt Imperfections
If you have ever looked in the mirror and wished you could fill in some dimples or dents in your buttocks, Sculptra Aesthetic can be used to achieve the desired rounded/smooth result. Similar to fillers to the face, Sculptra Aesthetic can be used to smooth out buttocks imperfections.
How It Works
The active ingredient in Sculptra Aesthetic is poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a semi-permanent and biocompatible implant that immediately augments treated tissues. You’ll therefore see instant albeit temporary volumizing in the treated areas. Then, after the body absorbs the carrier substance, PLLA particles trigger an inflammatory response that prompts the production of collagen type-I fibers in the skin.
Around half of the product gets digested within six months, during which time your results will continue to develop. Once optimal effects are achieved, they can last two years or more, thanks to the body’s internal mechanisms. This means collagen production will remain at elevated levels for an extended period of time, working from within to rebuild the skin’s shape and resiliency.
Collagen and Its Many Facets
You’re likely familiar with collagen, but you may not know all of the tasks it performs. Let’s start at the beginning, wherein production of this strong, insoluble fiber starts to wane in the late 20s. You lose approximately 1 percent every year after that, meaning that by the age of 45, you’ve lost nearly 25 percent of your base levels.
Sculptra jumpstarts this process to rebuild the skin’s natural structure, but collagen also supports the crucial functions of hyaluronic acid (HA) and elastin. HA keeps skin hydrated to promote its smooth, soft, and dewy texture, while elastin gives skin its elastic qualities. Together, collagen, elastin, and HA comprise most of the ECM and work in tandem together; when one is off-kilter, the other two tend to be as well. This explains why skin looks dry and lax in later years.
A youthful face demands more than bouncy skin; it also requires a smooth, even complexion that becomes more challenging with time. Sunspots, hyperpigmentation, and scars – especially those caused by acne – tend to take their toll. The answer, not surprisingly, is collagen; the amino acids it contains reduce these concerns to give you a brighter and more balanced tone.
The Fountain of Youth
While we don’t recommend you imbibe this treatment, it does provide results akin to the fabled fountain of youth. By revving collagen production, Sculptra treats current signs of aging and also prevents additional ones from developing. This means that after your recommended series of treatments (most patients need more than one session), you’ll stop the natural degradation that time renders to skin.
The Benefits of a Gradual Process
Sculptra Aesthetic does not deliver overnight results, but far from being an impediment, this is perceived as a benefit. Your appearance will not change in drastic, dramatic ways but will instead slowly and gradually look fresher and younger. Today’s aesthetic treatments work to supplement your natural beauty rather than completely alter your appearance. Most patients prefer this because they don’t want to alert others they’ve had “work done.”
Who Is This Right for?
We treat patients as early as their 20s and as late as their 80s, although most are in their 40s and 50s. It’s important to note the earlier you start, the easier treatment is. We generally recommend that people around age 35 start considering volumizing treatments, especially with Sculptra, as it keeps your skin healthier for longer.
Treatment is intended for patients with healthy immune systems who want to correct facial wrinkles and fat loss. You should not use Sculptra if you are allergic to its ingredients or have a history of hypertrophic scarring or keloid formation. We will delay your session if you have a skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area.
A Treatment With Long-Term Benefits
A consultation with one of our nurses will help determine the best body contouring path forward for you. The consult may suggest Sculptra Aesthetic and/or other treatment modalities such as CoolTone (to build muscle), CoolSculpting (to remove fat and sculpt), VelaShape III (to treat cellulite and assist with banana rolls), or even PDO threads (helps tighten skin).
The consultation will determine the likely number of treatments, usually three, spaced approximately 4 weeks apart. After the free consultation, a plan will be developed. If it is decided Sculptra Aesthetic is the best approach, treatment can be scheduled for a few days later.
