Injectables are by far our most requested services. Two of our most popular injectable services are the trademarked Nurse Shara LipFlip with Key Hole Pout and the MiniPout. Today, we reveal everything you need to know about these two Lip Flip in Knoxville options
Nurse Shara LipFlip in Knoxville With Key Hole Pout
The Nurse Shara Latorre Lip Flip in Knoxville is a trademarked technique similar to the Botox lip flip in Knoville. The primary difference is this technique combines the injection of botulinum toxin with the injection of a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. With a Botox lip augmentation in Knoxville, the upper lip is flipped up slightly. With this technique, the upper lip is turned up slightly and the bottom lip is rolled out.
Nurse Shara LipFlip™ With MiniPout
The Nurse Shara Latorre Lip Flip with MiniPout is similar to the key hole pout look. It combines Botox with a hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler. However, the aesthetic is significantly more subtle.
This more subtle look is primarily achieved by using a smaller volume of dermal filler. Moreover, we use a different formulation with lower density hyaluronic acid spheres.
Type of Dermal Filler Used
During your initial consultation, we will consider the unique structure of your lips and identify your aesthetic goals to determine which injectable filler is right for you. Depending on your ideal aesthetic, you may need 1 filler administered into your upper lip and a different filler injected into your lower lip. The 2 fillers we typically use are Juvéderm XC and Volbella XC.
Juvéderm Volbella® XC is most often used to perform the Nurse Shara Lip Flip with MiniPout because the increase in volume is much more modest. Depending on your needs, this formulation can be used to erase “smoker’s lines,” enhance the overall shape of your lip, add volume, and improve the symmetry between the upper and lower lips.
About the Lip Flip in Knoxville Treatment
In the 96 hours leading up to your Nurse Shara lip augmentation, take arnica montana 4 times daily. At this point, you should also be ensuring you are adequately hydrated.
In the 72 hours leading up to your treatment, you should stop taking blood thinners. This includes alcohol, NSAIDs, MAOIs, corticosteroid injections, and fish oil. You should also stop using any topical retinoid products in the 72 hours leading up to your treatment.
What to Expect During Lip Flip in Knoxville Treatment
During the Botox portion of your treatment, several injections are made just above the upper lip in the muscle known as the orbicularis pros. This muscle encircles your entire mouth. However, we are only concerned about relaxing the muscle above the lip so the lip slightly rolls up and looks forward. This allows for a smooth, defined, and voluminous look.
During the Juvéderm portion of your non-invasive lip augmentation, we will mark the injection points necessary to give you the pout you desire. Then, we will make the injections using the appropriate formulation(s). Depending on your desired aesthetic, you may receive injections around the corners of your mouth and in one or both lips.
Does Treatment Hurt? Do I Need Anesthesia for the Lip Flip in Knoxville?
We understand that your lip skin is thin. We get that you may be worried about what the injections will feel like, but we can assure that no topical numbing cream is necessary. When the Botox is administered, you will feel a slight pinch as the needle penetrates your skin. However, the gauge of the needle is so fine that it causes no pain or discomfort.
As importantly, nearly all the Juvéderm formulations we offer include lidocaine, indicated by the “XC” at the end of the formula name. If you are allergic to lidocaine, please let us know during your initial consultation. We are more than happy to accommodate your allergy. However, even without the lidocaine, there is no need for a topical anesthetic.
What to Do After the Lip Flip in Knoxville Treatment
In the 6 hours following your Lip Flip in Knoxville treatment, do not apply pressure to the treated areas. In the 24 hours after your treatment, do not submerge your head underwater. This means you should avoid pools, hot tubs, and bathtubs. Showering is perfectly acceptable.
The rest of your post-treatment care is essentially a mirror of how you prepared. Avoid alcohol, fish oil, and other blood thinners for 72 hours and stop taking any retinoid-based products. Also, do your best to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous exercise, and minimize caffeine in the 96 hours following your non-invasive lip augmentation.
Benefits of a Nurse Shara LipFlip™
The primary benefit of a Nurse Shara Latorre LipFlip™, whether you opt for a key hole pout or MiniPout, is that it combines the best of both worlds from Botox injections and dermal filler injections. By including Botox in your non-invasive lip augmentation, the pout of your lips is subtly more prominent, even when you are not pouting.
The final most significant benefit of Botox is how much fuller your lips look while still looking natural. But don’t discount the fillers. Thanks to the dermal filler we use, volume can be added to the upper lip, lower lip, or both. Another benefit of treatment is that we can correct deep vertical lip lines. Furthermore, the overall shape and symmetry of the lips can be enhanced.
