What happens when our clients don’t do their research and first look for artistry? It always costs more. The total cost of fixing botched lips instead of going to an artistic medical aesthetician is up to three times more (it costs to remove lip filler with Hylenex™, and then there is the cost of correcting and re-injecting the lip filler).
Lip Anatomy, Beauty, and Artistry:
At Beautique Medical we are experts in lip anatomy, beauty, and artistry. Lips have some key regions including the upper and lower vermillion border, the cupid’s bow, the philtrum, the tubercle, and the oral commissures. To perform beautiful lip filler injections, the nurse injector must have a through knowledge of where to place the filler to create beautiful, natural-looking, sexy, luscious, kissable result.
What are sexy lips?
Scientists have found that the size and shape of lips can play a significant role in sexual attraction. While big lips can be attractive, if they are too big it will throw off the symmetry and balance, resulting in less beauty. The most voluptuous lips tend to be full, dark (such as when they are flushed), non-gummy, symmetrical, balanced, shapely, and youthful. We are attracted to a combination of fullness, warmth, and redness in lips. The opposite is also true.

Why do people get lip injections?
Being great at lip injections means you must understand that people come in for different reasons. Some patients want to put the volume in the lips time has taken away, some patients want to adjust the natural shape of their lips or gummy smile, some patients want augmentation and to have fuller, sexier lips, and some patients want to fix ill-placed lip filler from other providers (aka botched lips).
As we age, collagen loss increases, hyaluronic acid production decreases, and our oral cavity experiences bone loss. Visually, the distance between the nose and upper vermillion border of the lips appears longer, and there is less volume in the lip.
For patients who have aged, we can give back what time has taken away, by adding volume to the lips, and using artistry and skill to add a crisp vermillion border. We also use Botox or Jeuveau to roll the lips outward, creating our signature lip flip (Nurse Shara’s LipFlip™). For patients who have lost their philtrums (two lines from lips to nose), we can artistically simulate these lines with dermal filler, allowing the patient to regain a youthful look to their lips.
Some of us have lips where the upper/lower tubercle meets it creates a slightly unflattering ‘M’ shaped (think golden arches shaped). Skilled injectors can correct this shape.
Augmentation
Full, flushed lips are sexy, so younger and older clients are drawn to having a full, sexy, luscious, juicy, kissable pout. Lips, like our faces, can be naturally asymmetrical or unbalanced. An experienced nurse injector who has an eye for artistry can correct these natural asymmetries, correct the balance, symmetry, and shape, and the result can be even more beautiful!

A gummy smile is when there is more gum tissue showing above the teeth than the patient desires. Many of our clients have come to us from other providers after receiving ill-placed fillers in their lips, also called botched lips.What are botched lips?
Some patients come to us because they know something is off, they just can’t put into words what it is about their lips. At Beautique Medical, we will show you exactly what is ‘off’. When we pinpoint the exact issue with the lips and give our patients a plan to have the lips of their dreams, they are so happy to have a solution.
Sometimes, botched lips are so egregious that we can see the errors as soon as our unhappy patient opens the door to our clinic.
Signs of ill-placed filler (botched lips) include duck lips, sausage lips, unsymmetrical lips, bumpy lips, unwanted pockets of lip filler, filler that extends beyond the vermillion border, and too much filler.
During your free consultation, Nurse Shara or her other skilled nurse injectors will come up with a plan to fix your botched lips. This may include utilizing Hylenex™ to dissolved ill-placed filler, and then injections with dermal lip filler (such as from the Juvéderm™ family of fillers) to correct the lip augmentation.
How do I know if my provider, my nurse injector, is an artistic nurse injector with lip fillers?
